Position Title HOTEL OPENING STAFF PERSON
Position Description You will be part of the opening staff for a new hotel that is under construction and will open about August 1. Typical duties will vary day to day depending on the needs of the General Contractor. But for example purposes some of the things you might be doing would be:
Landscaping of the new hotel
Cleaning of the interior, or rooms, or grounds of the new hotel
Installing the furniture and lamps and beds and microwaves and refrigerators
Scrubbing of tubs and bathrooms and showers to get ready for opening
Mowing grass or seeding grass
Installing irrigation system
Uncrating furniture and moving it into the hotel
And any other duties assigned by management to get the hotel open

Level of English Required Conversational English 8 or above
Start Date Per DS-2019 Typically May 20 to June 25
End Date Per DS-2019 Not earlier than August 15

Wage Rate Pay rate is 7.25 per hour. IN addition there is a bonus of 1.25 per hour for every non overtime hour you work between June 5 and August 13, 2011. You must remain until at least August 13 to receive the bonus. The bonus will be paid on August 20, 2011. If you work after August 13 your pay rate will be 7.25 per hour unless you have received a pay increase to a higher level. You will work a minimum of 30 hours AVERAGE per week but we will strive for 35-40 hours per week. After 40 hours per week overtime is at $10.87 per hour. If you miss work or are late for work after being counseled- Your employment can be terminated -

Schedule We work every day of the week- with 2 days off per week and 5 days work. The work days will vary with workload and may vary week to week.
Required Skills Hard worker – Good work ethic. Not late for work – Dependable
Dress Code/ Uniform Neat Clean Blue Jeans or other work clothes. WE will provide T shirts. Bring at least 3 pair of work pants so you can have clean work clothes every day Shoes can be work shoes or athletic shoes

Grooming Code Shower and use deodorant daily- Hair neat and clean. No facial hair – males shave daily

Make arrangements with Jerry as soon as you enter the US or before you leave your home country and look for Van #706. From OKC to Clinton, a cab fare costs around $132.00 for one person, $65 each for two or more and $45 each for 3 or more. We suggest you travel in groups to share the cost to travel to Clinton. Cab fare from anyone else will run at least $160.

Basic Information Housing will be in local hotels and you will be responsible for making arrangements for yourself.

Cost As of January 12th 2011 the cost per week, per person was $160.00 at the Budget Inn, 2247 West Gary Boulevard (-1-580-323-6840) $60.00 per person per week at The Trade Winds, 2128 Gary Boulevard (1-580-323-2610 or 1-800-321-2209 very close to Montana Mike’s). In most cases these rates are based on two persons per room and most places have a microwave and refrigerator in the room.
Deposit Varies with each housing location.
Additional Costs Personal expenses until you receive your first paycheck which in some cases can be up to three weeks from your actual work start date. At least $700 per DS-2019

This is a very different job than most summer jobs.You will be doing whatever is needed to get a brand new hotel up and running. One day you may be doing landscaping and the next day uncrating furniture or doing the first big clean of a bathroom in the room. One day you might work 10 hours another day you might work 4 hours. It needs someone who is flexible and able to change direction as necessary. You’ll be able to have a lot of pride in your work – you’ll work hard and you will earn a good pay rate. And if you complete your obligation you will receive a substantial bonus as specified above.
