In our investigation and verification of your employer, Central Park Guide Inc, we learned that they were not a valid employer for the J1 Work and travel Program. We collected the required paperwork and even visited the employer to ensure the employer could meet the requirements of the program. During our visit we learned the below:

· The employer did not have the ability to give the hours mentioned on the job offer to more than a few students.
· There was not enough supervision to assist you in learning and succeeding at your job.
· Housing offered is scarce and when available is only available until the end of August which is a few weeks prior to the end of your program.
· Per our understanding even though the job offer had a pay rate listed the students were going to be paid commission which is against the rules of the program.

Due to these findings WISE is unable to sponsor you to work for Central Park Guide Inc. While we wish every student could come on our program we can only allow students to work for employers where they have the opportunity to succeed on this cultural exchange program. This employer obviously does not provide this opportunity. Therefore WISE is unable to sponsor you this year to come on the WISE Foundation J1 Work & Travel Program.

At this point we direct you to your local agency for your refund. We will begin this process immediately. Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
