Thank you for your inquiry. You have reached the Office of Private Sector Exchange within the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. This office administers the Exchange Visitor Program overseen by the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Private Sector Exchange. The Exchange Visitor Program (or J-1 visa program) is for foreign nationals who come to the United States for international educational and cultural exchange experiences.

We regret that we cannot assist you. The issuance of visas is outside the purview of this office.

You may contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you applied for information on the status of your application. You can also submit an inquiry to the Visa Office by telephone at (603) 334 0888 or at Contact Us

Please note that visa issuance is at the sole discretion of the U.S. consular official reviewing a foreign national's visa application, and admission into the United States is at the sole discretion of U.S. immigration officials when foreign nationals attempt to enter the United States at the border or port of entry. The processing of all visa applications is done on a case-by-case basis; therefore, the time of visa processing varies.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Regards,

Office of Private Sector Exchange
