VERY IMPORTANT CIEE Core Program Rules. Please read this section carefully! If you do not follow these important rules you can be terminated from the program!
Please be aware that the rules for the Work & Travel program are more strict now than they ever have been! We want to share this important information with you to explain your responsibilities.
CIEE Work & Travel participants may be terminated from the program for any of the following reasons:
· Failure to update CIEE with any address changes while you are on the Work & Travel program.
· Failure to complete the required monthly monitoring surveys.
· Failure to follow CIEE work / employment rules. This includes but is not limited to:
o Failure to report to the employer listed on your DS-2019 form.
o Failure to report second job information to CIEE.
o Leaving / abandoning your job without permission from CIEE.
o Working at an employer that is not approved by CIEE, after being told the job is not approved.
· Any behavior considered inappropriate by CIEE or is not consistent with the purpose of the program.
· Thefts, arrests or any form of criminal conduct
Termination has an adverse affect on an exchange visitors immigration record. Work & Travel participants whose status in SEVIS has been terminated will find it difficult to apply for a change of status in the United States or to apply for future visas. Termination from your CIEE Work & Travel program means that your CIEE sponsorship / DS-2019 and insurance are cancelled immediately and you will be required to return home. If you stay in the United States after you have been terminated from the Work & Travel program by CIEE, you will be here illegally.
We want you to have a successful program but it’s important to understand the rules also. If you have questions about any topics in this e-mail, please call CIEE at 1.888.268.6245 so that we can help you.
