Job Description

Sell ice cream from a truck in neighborhoods and cities. Drive around and offer ice-cream to customers.
Work Schedule:

12 pm - 8pm (8 hours - weekend), 2pm - 8pm (6 hours - weekday). Students should expect to work 7 days a week, but not when the weather is not nice.

Starting Wage:

$7.80/hr or 25% commission on ice cream sales, whichever is greater. $300 end-of-season bonus for meeting minimum sales volume (minimum sales goal is 25,000 in sales based on 100 days worked).
Overtime:

Possible, but not guaranteed. Pays time and a half.
English Skills required:

Intermediate to Advanced. Must understand well enough to communicate and sell.

Company T-shirt is provided free of charge. Jeans and shorts permitted.

$350 (refundable).
Housing:

Furnished apartments. Cost is $65/week/student (rate is based on DS-2019 Form start and end dates). Housing deposit upon arrival is $350 (refundable). There will be 2-3 participants per room depending on the room's size. Bathroom is shared. Basic housing facilities include mattress, central air, basic furniture, plus living room with couch, TV, and kitchen equipped with table, oven, refrigerator, and cook ware.
Transportation:

Transportation provided. Ice cream truck during work hours and company car when not working. Company will not charge for the car rental, but students are expected to pay for their own gas for the transportation cars, not for the trucks. It is approximately $10-20 per month per student. That money will not be deducted from their paycheck. City bus transportation also available.


Other Information:

Home country driver's license is required. International driver's license is required as well. No couples. No previous experience required. The employer does not require a drug test. Training will be provided upon arrival: 1 day classroom training, 2 days ice-cream truck training (all paid). Popsy Pop is an ice cream company with over 140 Popsy Pop trucks and 10 Mister Softee trucks throughout New Jersey (Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties), Pennsylvania, Delaware and Virginia.
